Our "Spring Awakening" concert featured Bach: Sleepers Wake!, Pergolesi: Magnificat and Handel: Chandos Anthem no.9 Oh Praise the Lord with One Consent. We were delighted to be joined by a guest orchestra and our soloists Stuart Keen, Phil Wilcox and Jenny Marsden Williams who all gave excellent performances. Previous Concerts

Our concert at Dalton Church on 16th March 2013, was well-received by our audience. In the first half, we performed a lovely Easter meditation, Via Crucis. The harp accompaniment to the piece is particularly beautiful and it was skillfully executed by Angelina Warburton.  Via Crucis was written in 1997 by Adrian Self, and we were honoured that the composer came to listen to our performance. Adrian Self, the composer is pictured below (right) with Jim Cooke, our Musical Director (centre) and Peter Kwater (left) our rehearsal and concert accompanist.

In the second half, we sang Howard Goodall’s Requiem, Eternal Light. We were also delighted that Howard Goodall himself put a good luck message to us on Twitter!

Summer 2014

As usual, Parbold Village Hall was the venue for our summer concert. It was a relaxed and sociable event and a buffet supper was enjoyed by our guests, as well as some fine music.

Our guest classical guitarist, Andrew Planton, accompanied our performance of Romancero Gitano by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. This dramatic, flamenco inspired piece which evokes images of the rivers, countryside and cities of Andalucía.

In the second half our accompanist, Peter Kwater, accompanied some pieces on the Steinway piano. Vicky Little gave some excellent solos and a fine time was had by all.
